Larimer County Wildfire Resiliency Code

In 2025 Colorado State passed legislation requiring all local governments and special districts in Colorado to adopt a Wildfire Resiliency Code by July 1, 2026.
The goal of the Wildfire Resiliency code is to ensure that Colorado communities are safer from and more resilient to wildfires, and reducing the risk to people and property through the adoption of statewide codes and standards based on best practice approaches to hardening structures and reducing fire risk in the defensible space surrounding structures in the wildland-urban interface in Colorado.
Pinewood Springs Fire Protection District has adopted Larimer County's code, which can be viewed here:

The new Wildfire Resiliency Code generally applies to new construction and significant renovations.
